Last Monday, on the 9th of February, a crowd of intrigued space-time adventurers walked through the Pentagon Centre’s doors directly into the belly of the cosmos. Hanging from the walls as windows into a multitude of undiscovered dimensions, the fluorescent, trance-inducing, meditative mandalas of Lillie Emblem and the discreet, yet forceful, views of the universe dissected into sparkling stars and geometric edges of Andy Peutherer and Michelle Campbell greeted our guests with a promise. A promise further concluded by the colourful and commanding surreal space planes of Gordon Stead and the engulfing and confounding sizeable sketches of Stuart Murphy. People talked, marvelled and talked a bit more; the exact objective of this exhibition form the start. The evening featured Stuart Murphy’s one-time talk in front of his artworks, which entailed a discussion between the visitors and the artist on the unconscious hold of the mind and psyche to art. Deep in contemplation or heartily invigorated, our artists and visitors roamed the floors of this reality while looking straight into the eyes of another reality all together.

Fast Forward: Views of the Future will be on until the 27th of February.
