This workshop provides you with a special opportunity to explore traditional Chinese methods of landscape painting.

This workshop provides you with a special opportunity to explore traditional Chinese methods of landscape painting. Whether you are interested in experimenting with larger scales or calligraphy techniques, our experienced tutor Laura will guide you through the process.

You can either work with an original composition or copy the old masters like Fan Kuan and Guo Xi. This method of copying old masters has a long-standing tradition in Chinese scroll painting. Inspired by the Chinese northern Sun period and the Daoist approach of creating a balance between mountains, rivers and valleys, this workshop will allow you to delve into these techniques and create your own masterpiece. Books and pictures will be provided for further guidance.

We will be working with long paper (roughly 4 ft/120 cm), black ink and Chinese calligraphy brushes. Materials are included in the price of our workshop.

Please note that the workshop is suitable for both beginners and painting experts.
