Artist Georgi Tsenov is a Bulgarian painter and educator living and working in Glasgow. He holds a Master of Arts degree from Sofia University and has exhibited extensively internationally. Six Foot Gallery is delighted to show eighteen of Georgi’s colourful, stylised oil paintings, in his first Scottish exhibition.
Georgi’s exhibition is a rumination on the artist’s past work, a spontaneous trip to the past which reincarnated his past emotions.
Inspired in large part by his time spent in the American Midwest, much of Georgi’s work depicts urban scenes in bright technicolour. Stylistically, his paintings toe the line between Cubism and Realism, and they reflect on his past experiences.
Many of the pieces also depict vibrant domestic scenes; on the surface they echo the still life, but on a broader level they evoke the novelty of everyday living.
I think young people are already stressed enough from school and university. All they can do is be truly YOUNG! To live out on the wings of inspiration and the great flight of youth! Let them be unique and free of frames and cliches! There is enough time in the future for them to be defined, level headed, and wise!
