Winter Open Call 2026

👽🔮🌟 Submissions are open for our upcoming Winter show 🌟🔮👽

For this year’s Winter Open Call we invite all artists and dreamers to send us your brightest, wackiest visions to illuminate the winter dark. We’re venturing into the strange imagery of our unconscious minds: hypnagogic landscapes, half remembered lucid dreams, familiar objects in unfamiliar places. We’re interested in what happens when your snoozy brain takes over.

Think psychedelic dreamscapes, optical illusions, kaleidoscopic phosphenes, and all the other weirdness that happens on the edge of the waking world. We’d love to see some works that embrace clashing colours, luminous surfaces, iridescence, neon, or fluorescent hues – or maybe you’re one of the 12% of people who dream in black and white? Send us your most striking monochrome mirages.

Remember that although the winter solstice marks the start of winter, it also means the return of more sunlight – it only gets brighter from here.

We welcome your interpretations of the theme. Email us a photograph of the work(s) you would like to submit, and tell us a bit about yourself and your practice. As always, you don’t have to be from Glasgow to apply, and submissions are open to all mediums and disciplines and to both established and emerging artists.

We must be mindful of our environment in the Pentagon Centre and we cannot display any blatant profanity, graphic imagery or overt nudity, so please re-imagine all depictions of such appropriately.
