Six Foot Gallery is an alternative exhibition space, run by artists for artists. The gallery is situated throughout the ground floor of Glasgow’s Pentagon Centre, a busy business centre that attracts a wide range of audiences. This diversity is our favourite thing about our space – it keeps the gallery open, accessible, and connected to life beyond the art world.

Founded in 2010, Six Foot Gallery is operated by our director, Fee, and a revolving team of artists from a range of specialisms and backgrounds, all contributing their time towards a collective aim: promoting emerging creative practitioners and providing continuing support to established practitioners. We love art, we love what we do, and we love supporting our local creative community.
Between installing and deinstalling shows, our team responds to enquiries, handles all communication with exhibiting artists, prepares for exhibitions, manages our social media accounts, ensures the smooth everyday operation of the gallery, and welcomes our visitors during opening hours. The team is involved in exhibitions from start to finish, gaining experience in gallery work and assistance in a hands-on environment.

The gallery invites artists to exhibit their work through open calls and opportunities for solo and Open Call shows (see our Opportunities page!). We work collaboratively to figure out what each exhibition needs in terms of space and layout, and we’re always up for a conversation, so don’t hesitate to get in touch.
