Winter Open Call 2025

👣 Submissions are open for our upcoming winter show 👣

TRACES // Like footprints left in the snow or the warmth that endures after an embrace, we leave marks and traces on the world that remain in our wake. Our seasonal exhibition explores the imprint of human presence, from the beauty of wear and tear on well-loved objects to a fingerprint on a fogged-up window.

We’re looking for work that speaks to what lingers between presence and absence, material and memory, the visible and the unseen. This could mean mark-making, layering or tracing in a literal sense, or it might be a more intangible exploration: the spaces between people, breath misting in the cold, a touch that lingers long after someone’s gone. Whether through subject, colour, texture, or mood, we welcome your interpretations of the theme.

Email us a photograph of the work you’d like to submit, and tell us a bit about yourself and your practice. As always, submissions are open to all mediums and disciplines and to both established and emerging artists.

In honour of Sándor and Erika Nagy, half of our income from this year’s Winter Open Call will be donated to Glasgow’s Marie Curie Hospice.

As always, we must be mindful of our environment in the Pentagon Centre and we cannot display any blatant profanity, graphic imagery, or nudity, so please cover all depictions of such with a dusting of snow.
