I have been thinking a lot about accessibility within art, and how important it is for artwork to be enjoyed and understood by all. In response to this, I have made the decision to make my work as accessible as I can moving forward, by providing captioning on videos, using dyslexic- friendly fonts where text is used, and overall being more conscious about how to make my work more accessible.
Currently, I am working on a video/animation as part of my uni project. Originally, this project would have resulted in a site-based work, however I am planning on “exhibiting” this work digitally online.
My practice has covered quite an eclectic range of materials, from “traditional” practices such as wood work, video and plaster - to more 2-dimensional works such as pen, paints and paper. I like to follow the saying “working with what you’ve got”.
Recently, I’ve been building a new relationship with creating work digitally and through digital means. Animation was my first step into digital media, and whilst my works are still at their most basic level, I have really enjoyed exploring and creating my own way of doing things!
