Summer Open Call 2026

⛓️ Submissions are open for our upcoming summer show Melting Point ⛓️

Send us your brightest and sunniest summer visions, then join us for the opening night on Friday 19th June, in partnership with Jubel Beer!

Glasgow and its people come alive in the summer. We transform in the heat: a city of dynamic ideas, cultures, and communities turned to gold as the light finally touches us. As the sun beats down, it morphs our mood, our expressions, and our relation to the city itself.

While days grow long and shorts shorten, Six Foot Gallery invites artists to explore art as an alchemical process; the heat of summer as an artistic catalyst. We seek to explore how artists can transform even the simplest materials, bending them to their creative vision. Perhaps you’re a metalsmith, turning silver sheets into wearable treasures. You might work with collage, building entire worlds out of found papers and objects. Or maybe you’re a printmaker, utilising heat and pressure to bring images to life, or harnessing the power of the sun to make cyanotypes.

“I love the otherworldliness of painting, and I often talk about the alchemy of art itself. Colours are alchemic… it’s making shit into gold, isn’t it? Something out of nothing.” –Tracey Emin

Think gold, silver, chrome and mercury, heat, shine, glisten and goop. Chemistry or magic. Created or augmented matter. Artist-made change.

Whether through subject, colour, texture or mood, we welcome your offerings and interpretations. Email us a photograph of the work you would like to submit, and tell us a bit about yourself and your practice. As always, submissions are open to all mediums and disciplines, and to both established and emerging artists.

As always, we must be mindful of our environment in the Pentagon Centre and we cannot display any blatant profanity, graphic imagery, or nudity, so please re-imagine all depictions of such appropriately.
