🌼 Our annual Spring Open Call is now open! 🌼

We are seeking artists in all mediums to take part in our Spring Open Call here at Six Foot Gallery. We accept canvases, framed works, photography, prints, sculptures, jewellery, installations, and just about anything else you can think of, and there is no theme for this Open Call.  It’s a great opportunity to get your work out there. 

Whether you’re a professional or just starting out in your practice, email us your submissions now! Please include a photograph of your work, a short description of it, and a bit about yourself in your email. There is a £10 hanging fee for each piece exhibited and a maximum of three pieces per artist. 

In an effort to make Open Calls at Six Foot Gallery as accessible as possible, we have three Pay It Forward spaces available on a first come first served basis for people on low or no income, meaning you can take part in our Spring Open Call at no cost. Please mention in your email if you need to use one of these spaces.

Exhibition dates: Friday 10th May – Friday 24th May
Submission Fee: £10 per work
Maximum works per artist: 3

GALLERY HIRE

We offer a two week hire slot for a fixed rate of £150, plus 40% commission on any sales of exhibited works and 20% commission on sales of prints of exhibited works.

We currently have four slots available in our exhibitions timetable for 2024:

Six Foot Gallery is a large, bright, unconventional gallery space, approximately forty metres long, comprised of a mix of wall hanging areas and freestanding plinths (for optional use), situated throughout the lobby of the Pentagon Centre. If you’re not already familiar with the space, we strongly advise you to come in and have a look around before you begin to plan your show.

Please give thorough consideration to whether your body of work will adequately fill the gallery. If not, why not arrange a collaborative show with a fellow artist? We welcome exhibition proposals from solo artists, groups, and collectives, of all skill and experience levels, and we’re happy to help with every aspect of arranging your exhibition, from framing advice to brainstorming a good title!

Please do email us to discuss hiring the gallery – including images of your previous/current work, a description of your exhibition concept, and a bit about yourself and your practice – or pop in to the office and we’ll give you a tour around the space. We’d love to hear your ideas, and we’re happy to answer any questions you might have.

SIX FOOT SMALLER: DISPLAY CABINET HIRE

Perhaps the nature of your small works makes it difficult to find a suitable exhibition space, or maybe you only have a small collection of miniature works and aren’t quite ready for a more daunting larger show? Our prominently situated and secure Display Cabinets are the ideal size to host a mini exhibition without the larger overheads and responsibility of hiring the whole gallery space.

Our Display Cabs are perfect for displaying:

• artist’s books
• handmade jewellery
• assemblages
• ceramics
• textile works
• models and sculptures
• postcard sized works
• text based works (we’d love to exhibit some poetry!)

Each Cab measures 38cm x 38cm x 165cm, and there are five shelves in each (28cm, 36cm, and 30cm high (3x). Hire costs £30 for two weeks, plus 20% commission on any sales of your work.
